Radi Khasawneh
Derivatives Editor
What type of work do you do?
I am responsible for the news content at FOW, a longstanding brand within Derivia Intelligence. That means generating and managing news flow with lots of variety in daily subject matter. While exciting, it requires constant interaction with the markets to reflect what is happening. We recently merged with ETD, a trusted reference for data including futures and options, to create great avenues for growth and cooperation between the businesses.
What led you to work in your role?
It is my second time here — I was a graduate trainee at Euromoney International Investor in 2005. Having fallen into a role covering structured credit, I have spent a career covering derivatives and have seen my role evolve along with those markets - going into the global financial crisis and all the after-effects we continue to see.
What did you do before joining Derivia Intelligence?
Before joining Derivia, I had taken a career break to study data science. I was an analyst and head of a research team at a consultancy after my time in journalism.
What do you like best about working at Derivia Intelligence?
It’s a varied role that requires personal initiative and juggling commitments. At the same time, it’s also a unique opportunity to help shape our content and drive meaningful change in an increasingly important market area. One thing the company does well is create an environment that lets you help define the priorities in a way that keeps things interesting.
